The Italy-USA Foundation and the American Academy centenary

In 2014, the American Academy in Rome celebrates the centenary of its main building, the only project designed by the legendary architectural firm McKim, Mead, White in Europe. The president of the Italy-USA Foundation, senator Lucio D’Ubaldo, sent the following message regarding the exhibition “Building an Idea: McKim, Mead & White and the American Academy in Rome, 1914-2014”, curated by Marida Talamona in collaboration with the Archivio di Stato di Roma, the Archivio Storico Capitolino and the Istituto Nazionale per la Grafica, under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic of Italy:

A cento anni dalla fondazione una mostra narra la storia dell’American Academy di Roma. Desidero formulare i miei auguri più sinceri e cordiali, sottolineando soprattutto il valore di questa prestigiosa istituzione nella vita civile e culturale della Capitale. Ad maiora!
