The Honorary President of the Italy-USA Foundation Mauro della Porta Raffo will held in Varese on Tuesday 18 August, 2020, 18:00, a conference promoted by the Municipality of Varese and introduced by the Mayor Davide Galimberti. The conference will be about “Cento anni fa negli USA il voto alle donne. Saranno le signore determinanti quest’anno?”. Mauro della Porta Raffo is a writer and journalist, one of the most qualified international expert of American political history and presidential elections. He wrote the books “Obiettivo Casa Bianca. Come si elegge un presidente”, “I signori della Casa Bianca”, “Americana”, “USA 1776/2016 – Dalla Dichiarazione di Indipendenza alla campagna elettorale del 2016”.
On July 4, 2020, Independence Day and the fifteenth anniversary of the establishment of the Italy-USA Foundation, a special commemorative digital stamp issued in a limited edition of 3000 copies will be launched, face value 10 euros.
Even the digital stamp, just like the paper one, can be used to send, in this case E-cards. Each issue has a specific, certain and limited edition. Once purchased, the stamp can be resold, can increase in value over time and can be in a “mint” or “used” condition. Digital stamps can be inserted in special albums, to create a complete collection.
Each stamp is a single digital object, guaranteed to be unique and authentic thanks to blockchain technology: it can in fact be purchased, collected or resold exactly like a paper stamp.
The Italy-USA Foundation has chosen the issue through Bitstamps, the first App created to produce digital collectible stamps, an international leader in the sector.
Following the decree of the Chamber of Deputies with which the suspension of all events involving external public to Parliament was decided, and considering the uncertain international situation due the Covid-19 pandemic, unfortunately it is not possible to organize the XII edition of the America Award. Therefore, the ceremony scheduled on October 8th at the Chamber of Deputies was postponed. The Italy USA Foundation thanks the high international personalities who already had ensured their presence, and makes an appointment for next America Award ceremony.
The Italy-USA Foundation is one of the first five most important think tanks in Italy also in 2020, according with the report Cogito Ergo Sum by the organization Openpolis, together with the tv program Report.
“The largest and most interconnected structures: historically 5 organizations have represented the most connected. We speak specifically of Aspen Institute Italia (president Giulio Tremonti), Astrid (president Franco Bassanini), Italy-USA Foundation (president Mauro della Porta Raffo), Italia Decide (president Luciano Violante) and Italianieuropei (president Massimo D’Alema)“, says the research that examined 153 think tanks in our country.
The Italy-USA Foundation, non-partisan, is also the structure with the highest number of parliamentarians: “the Italy-USA Foundation can count ties with 29 parliamentarians, the highest figure among the organizations surveyed. In particular, 18 deputies and 11 senators are part of the foundation, a number on which some of the political forces that are part of the government, Liberi e Uguali, cannot even count. It should be noted above all that the Italy-USA Foundation has representatives of all the main political parties, from the Democratic Party to the League, passing through the 5 Stars Movement and Forza Italia. In this way the structure has a transversal support“.
The research, focusing on political figures, does not indicate that the Italy-USA Foundation is also the one, beyond the parliamentarians, with the largest number of journalists, ambassadors, exponents of culture, fashion, science, entertainment, and Nobel laureates. Over 120 very high personalities united by the friendship between Italy and the United States of America.
The Italy USA Foundation also does not appear in the research in the rankings of public funding and foundations that receive donations from public or private companies, since for choice and to protect its total independence it does not receive any form of contributions, subsidies or grants, not even in the form of professional assignments, by any public or governmental or local institution or body, nor sponsorships or advertisements by companies.
The Italy USA Foundation is the only reality in Italy to be supported only and exclusively by the individual membership fees of its members.

Scaparrotti, former Supreme Commander of Nato. A special award was conferred in memory of Giorgio Faletti, writer. The Italy-USA Foundation, in the frame of the America Award, also conferred three medals of the Italian Parliament to three students of American universities: Djuna L. Carlton, Adriana M. DeNoble, Micah K. Hinnergardt. The anchorwoman was the journalist Didi Leoni.
The Italy-USA Foundation hosted an official dinner in Rome for General Curtis M. Scaparrotti, former Commander of US European Command and former NATO Suprem Commander in Europe, guest of the Italy-USA Foundation in Italy. Among the participants Emilio Iodice, Director of the Scientific Committee of the Italy-USA Foundation, Corrado Maria Daclon, Secretary General of the Italy-USA Foundation, ambassador Alessandro Minuto Rizzo, Director of the international relations of the Italy-USA Foundation.
